Gombe Stream National Park

Overview

Gombe Stream National Park is a small but legendary destination located on the shores of Lake Tanganyika in western Tanzania.

Gombe can be accessed by flying to Kigoma from Dar es Salaam or Arusha, followed by a boat ride along Lake Tanganyika to the park. Its remote location makes it a great addition for travelers seeking unique and less crowded safari destinations.

Weather & Climate

The park has a tropical climate with temperatures ranging between 20°C and 30°C. The best time for chimpanzee trekking is during the dry season (June to October), while the wet season (November to May) brings lush green vegetation and excellent birdwatching opportunities.
